I'm also a huge supporter of prepaid plans as a way to save money. I'm one of those people who hate getting locked into contracts, only to have buy my way out of them if I need to finish them early.

Of all of the options out there Net10 offers the clearest, easiest way to keep track of what you spend. 10c a minute for all local, long distance and roaming calls and 5c (not 50c!) per text. Plus your balance is displayed every time you turn your phone on. If you use your phone an average amount per month (300 minutes or so) then this offers the best value for money out there. If you use it more there are other options such as Straight Talk unlimited.

Hope this helps!

We changed to prepaid phones to try and save money and IT WORKS! We got Net 10 phones and buy 300 minutes each a month for $30.00. We will save over $1000.00 per year this way and it's painless. Another bonus is the phones had 300 free minutes to start off with, and any unused minutes roll over to the next month. We text a lot more now (50c per text) and get plenty of warning from Net10 if our time is running low! It's a win win situation!
